My favorite things and why I love them... (cont.)

Diffuser - I diffuse an array of high quality essential oils daily, choosing oils depending on how I am feeling. I have a diffuser in my bedroom, office and kitchen/dining area. Here is a sneak peek of some of my favorite blends that I include in my daily routine.

Morning blend: 3-4 drops Peppermint and 3-4 drops Wild orange as energy booster and to clear the respiratory airways.

Afternoon blend: 2-3 drops Bergamot, 2 drops Basil and 2 drops spearmint to alleviate feeling of fatigue and promote focus.

Night time blends: 3-4 drops Serenity restful blend, this is already a blend of several other oils designed to promote sleep. I also love to diffuse 3-4 drops Lavender and 3-4 drops Vetviver, you can diffuse separately or together. My advice is to experiment with the different oils and see what you like and how they make you feel.

Standing Desk - I have been using a standing desk for over 7years. It all started because of a back injury I had some years ago. At first, it was difficult to stand for an extended period of time, but over time, I built up my endurance and was able to stand for longer periods. Today, I can stand for 4 hours straight, usually in the morning until the afternoon. I will stand again for another 2 hours in the late afternoon.

According to studies, standing for six hours a day instead of sitting can prevent weight gain and help you lose weight. The study goes on to state that standing burns 0.15 calories more per minute compared to sitting. You might have heard the phrase that "Sitting is the new smoking", in fact the Heart Foundation published an article with that title.

PRO TIP - you will need to stand on a soft padded mat or wearing shoes designed for standing such as clogs to protect your back and the soles of your feet. I stand barefooted on a padded mat.

Dr. Dyer's teachings have had such profound impact on my decision making, the way I approach life, my outlook and my attitude. Lip Balm - I have very sensitive lips and it has been difficult for me to find a balm or gloss that does not cause my lip to trip or peel. When I tried the Doterra Lip Balm, I have to say, I was surprised it was so smooth and silky and no peeling or flaking.
