Dr. Misty Interviews Deon - Essential Oils for Perimenopause and Menopause Symptoms

If you are in either of these phases, chances are you already know that based on the symptoms you are experiencing. And even if you don't know the phase, you probably feel some differences in your body and as most of us say, it's my hormones. And you are correct, our hormones are usually responsible for some of the uncomfortable symptoms that we experience during these phases.

And while many people and some healthcare practitioners will say, that is part of the aging process and you can't do anything about it, you just have to burn through it. THAT IS NOT TRUE!

You see, many of those symptoms are due to hormonal imbalances, and so identifying the source of the imbalance is critical, and then you can proceed to take actions to alleviate your symptoms.

Many of you may already know my story of how I struggled with perimenopause symptoms for over 10 years when I was in my 30’s into my 40’s, developed fibrocystic breast tissues along the way. As I suffered, my doctors including a Breast Specialist, Gynecologist, Primary Care doctor and a Radiologist told me that there is nothing that I can do about my symptoms, it's all part of being a woman. All while they continue to monitor me every six months as I was deemed high risk for developing breast cancer. I will finish my story in my next blog post so stay tuned…

As a reminder, here are some of the most common symptoms that women experience during perimenopause and menopause:

  • Weight gain, especially around the midsection

  • Difficulty losing weight

  • Bloating

  • Cravings

  • Lack of energy and fatigue

  • Insomnia

  • Brain fog or memory loss

  • Depression

  • Moodiness

  • Hot flashes and night sweats

  • Low libido
